WEST LAKE COMPETITION 2-4-12

We had our first competition at West Lake High School.  It will be our first competition in a new division.  The Utah Winter Guard Association moved our guard up to the Scholastic Open Division.  That is exciting that they think we have the talent to be in that division, but we are the only guard in that group, so we will have to really push and challenge ourselves.  It is truly up to us and we are up to the challenge!

We started our competition day a little rough, the bus was late picking us up.

We started our warm up process just like we do every day, doing across the floors.  But today was different, Clarissa came down wrong, and injured her knee.

We have great Band Dad's and Mom's to help with a hurt girl.  We all are glad to help, knowing it could have been our daughter.  Thanks for being there.

Clarissa's night continued with a ride in an ambulance with a couple of handsome EMT's.  We wish Clarissa the best, and sent her off with our love and prayers.

The rest of the girls still have a competition to do and a lift that featured Clarissa, to be re worked.  But we were up to the challenge. We hit the competition floor ready to do our best.

The show was WONDERFUL!  I loved seeing it all put together, the flags, the  uniforms, the floor.  The crowd seemed to love it as well.

The captains, Gabi, Erin, Elizabeth, Sabrina, and Rachael waiting for the awards announcement.

Proudly showing off their FIRST PLACE in today's competition.

The tradition continues.  The captains all "lick" the plaque somewhere.

The girls share the plaque with Tiffany.

Tonight was a great start to the season.  Let's contine to improve and make the show better each eompetition!
