Wow, what a weekend it was. Congratulations to all of you. Darilyn and I are so proud of you and all the progress you have made. It didn't seem possible 5 weeks ago... But, you did and we couldn't be happier!

I hope you all realize what a HUGE step you took on Saturday. We were competing against some of the best bands in the country! WAY TO GO!

Info for Mt. Timp

Call time is 12:00 noon (11:15 for weapons). Make sure and eat lunch before you come.
Please come in your warm-ups with a black shirt and have your hair ready to go. Eyeliner and Eyelashes should also be on.

Make sure you have your uniform, nylons, leotard, shoes and equipment.
And, DRESS WARM:)

Wow, what a day it was yesterday! Despite the rain, cold, and other things... you girls pulled it off. We are very proud of your show and your accomplishments. Your hard work has definitely paid off:)

Hello Everyone,

Just a reminder for tomorrow...
1. We are meeting at 10am ready to practice
2. Come with your eyelashes on
3. Come with hair pulled back (ready to rat)
4. WEAR YOUR WARM-UPS
5. Bring your uniform, shoes, equipment and anything else needed for the show
6. Bring a sack lunch for the bus

Confusion????

It seems there is a little confusion going on concerning warm-ups, make-up, etc... So, I will try to clear it up...

Warm-ups are $75 and are MANDATORY!! You will be wearing them to the competitions and we need to look uniform. They are here and will be passed out at today's rehearsal. However, if you have not paid for them, you will not receive them.

Make-up is $15 and every student is required to pay this fee. Darilyn and I spent $48 for one set of make-up. We are trying to eliminate that fee for all of you - that is why we are buying make-up for everyone and applying it together.

Also, I have had members ask to order a flag bag. You DON'T have to buy one, it is an optional fee. But, you must have a flag bag - whether it is homemade or bought. I have ordered 5 at $20 - so first come first serve:)

~Tuesday the 23rd - Weber Review *Call time is 5pm for the guard - we leave at 6:30pm
~Friday the 26th - Guard Camp 3-6:30pm - Homecoming performance follows
~Saturday the 27th - Guard Camp 8am-12noon - Bridgerland follows.

A New Beginning

What a crazy day it has been. We are very excited to be with you guys and know that we will have a very positive remainder of the season. We are SO proud of each of you today - rehearsal was great and we feel so good about the direction you are going.

Finals Performance

End of a Season

Words cannot express my gratitude for the past 7 years I have spent as the director of the American Fork Color Guard. For some reason, I thought it would be an easy transition - but it definitely has not!! I have been struggling the past 2 weeks knowing that it is ending, and not wanting to let go. I am not sure what I am going to do without my girls - but, I know they will always be there. We have created some amazing memories that I will take with me throughout my life!

I WILL CHERISH YOU ALL FOREVER AND WILL MISS YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR LIFE WITH ME, AND FOR ALLOWING ME TO CALL YOU MINE:)

I LOVE YOU.

Finals Performance

The girls had an amazing prelims and finals performance. I was so proud of them. As I walked out of the stands after watching them perform the last time, the tears POURED out of my eyes - I was so afraid I would trip and fall because I couldn't see:)

I have never had a group this good. They have gotten their show just about perfect!!! Well, I think it was perfect:)

What a Party...

We had so much fun Friday night for our end of the year party! I believe it was better than having it somewhere nicer - we got to have a pj party:) Dusty BBQ'd for us, and we ate A LOT. Too bad the hamburgers were gigantic! But, they were good.
And, then it was like Christmas - presents galore!! It was awesome.
But then things did get a little out of hand:) ex: cake fight. But, we all had so much fun. What a big happy family, ehh? Don't I have the most adorable children??????

Championship Information

Hello All,
So, as you know Championships have been moved to West High School (240 North 400 West). Our prelim performance time is 3:19 p.m. Our final performance time will be after 7:00 p.m. Please bring a sack "dinner", as we will be leaving the school to find a quiet place for dinner and psych-up. We now do not have a long time between prelims and finals, so we might just go to a park. I will let you know as soon as I figure it out:)

PLEASE tell your parents of the change of venue. This should be closer for them, so try to get them ALL there for our last show of the year!!!

Wow, what a night it was last night. After such hard work, our girls won their first show. CONGRATULATIONS! I am so proud of each one of you. What an amazing first show.
We got great feed back from the judges, and we'll talk about it on Tuesday. We still have far to go, but I am so happy with your performance on Saturday.

Weekend Dates

Just a reminder that we will NOT be having rehearsal on Thursday night or on Saturday (because of President's Day Weekend).

Saturday the 23rd, we will be rehearsing from 7-11 a.m. This will be a mandatory rehearsal, so DON'T miss (please) :)

Our call time for the 23rd will be on at 3:00 p.m. I will post directions to the American Leadership Acadamy when they are sent to me. Thank you.

Also, great job last night at Family Night. I am very thankful to all of you for being so wonderful!! And, thanks to JennyLynn for letting us come perform at Riverton. I also want to give a huge thank you to Kassidy for ALL she has done for us this season. I don't think any of us would be where we are without her:) THANK YOU.
