AF Color Guard Reminders -- May 23, 2012
*Practice
silk money was due today. I am ordering them on Friday -- you need to
have one
to spin on guard. Please get that paid by Friday. (you only need a
practice silk if you were not in the A or Open Guards - so ALL new
members and B Guard).
*Band
Contracts have to be turned in this week or you will be dropped from guard.
*Please get
your disclosure documents in this week as well. Put on my desk.
*I will be
making a weapon and shoe order May 31st. Email me what you want
ordered. I will only order for you if you have paid.
*June 11th
will be a flag sectional and technique pass offs. Sectional from 8-10:30am,
pass offs starting at 10:30.
*June 13th
will be a weapon sectional and technique pass offs. Sectional from 8-10:30am,
pass offs starting at 10:30.
*Our first guard camp will be June 19-23rd. Please

Weapon Spins and Stops
Weapons!
Details for the Spins and Stops exercise that Cory taught you in class are now posted under the new "exercises" tab. Please take a look at them.
Also, Sabres . . . PLEASE WAIT TO DO THIS ON SABRE. We need to teach you the proper catch positions, and we don't want you to develop any bad habits.
This is an exercise that you will need to be able to make it through. We will help refine details, but it is up to you in your personal practice time to make sure you KNOW the details and can get through the exercise. Just like musicians are expected to memorize their music, you are expect to memorize your basics and routines.
See you all for rehearsal Wednesday at 3:00pm!

Performing Already???
Yes, we held our first practice of the new season on Wednesday, May 9th, just two days ago, and we had our first performance today, Friday, May 11th.
KSL AM, TV and Radio, on Fridays are taking their show on the road. This week they came to Robinson Park in American Fork. The Color Guard and Marching Band were invited to be there and perform.
Alarms went off really early as we had to be there by 5:15 AM! For some of us that time of day does not even exist.

So gld we got to be in front of the band and be seen for a change.
It was very cold with our short sleeve uniorms.
Thanks Mom and Dad's for finding the blankets in your cars for us to huddle in when not on camera.
